The Book of New Family Traditions (Revised and Updated): How to Create Great Rituals for Holidays and Every Day by Meg Cox

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book free via Goodreads ARC giveaways. This is a thick book full of ideas from various suggestions and families about new traditions your own family could start. While each tradition or activity is pretty short and to the point (easy to implement) many of them are just common sense. There are so very many different ideas though that of course, I had never heard of some of them.

Many of them did seem to have the potential to bring the family closer, while others were just common sense things you are probably already doing such as having your children brush teeth before bed and reading a bedtime story, or putting a tooth under the pillow when lost. There were actually a few suggestions for the loss of baby teeth.

Overall the book held some interresting ideas, but was also packed full of ideas most people have already heard of. The book would be a good buy for less creative people needing help establishing family rituals or traditions.
