Ivan's Great Fall: Poetry for Summer and Autumn from Great Poets and Writers of the Past
Ivan's Great Fall: Poetry for Summer and Autumn from Great Poets and Writers of the Past by Vanita Oelschlager

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My first impression was a feeling of joy at looking at the little boy swinging above the autumn leaves ready to jump in. What child doesn't have a similar wonderful autumn memory.

The mix of wonderful poetry from various writers like William Blake, Emily Bronte, Thomas Moore, Walt Whitman beautiful word the experiences of a child traveling from summer through fall. The story depicts the joy of any little boy on the journey through the mysteries & surprises offered as the seasons progress with all a little heart has to discover along the way, baseball, staying up late, vacation, etc.

The boy in the illustrations is so cute and lovable. The book is pulled together with a beautiful and well crafted mix of past and present to present a wonderful work of art any young boy can relate to.

This book was presented to me for an honest review, not a paid endorsement.
