Scaredy Squirrel is not too comfortable with the idea of camping ? unless it's on his couch! There will be no mosquitoes, skunks or zippers to worry about when he watches a show about the joys of camping on his brand-new TV. But first Scaredy must find an electrical outlet, and that means going into the woods! Will the nutty worrywart's plans prepare him for the great outdoors, or will his adventure end up as a scary story told around the campfire?

MY REVIEW:
Scaredy Squirrel reminded me a lot of my son's lack of interest in trying new things and lack of enthusiasm about new experiences. The story was great to share with my 7 year old.

Scaredy is accustomed to all of the luxuries and distractions that keep children (& adults) from enjoying nature, yet through a well crafted story he discovers there is more than he first realized out there to discover in his world.

Through the well written sequence of events, children can have a fun time learning that giving new things a chance can be very rewarding. Not every child is a natural adventurer, and books like this can help them overcome some of their negative thoughts about trying new things.
