Tricked By: Jen Calonita *****
Tricked
is the 3rd book in the Fairy Tale Reform School series.
It is an exciting, whimsical, fun, and adventured filled book. All
of your Grimm fairy tale characters are here.
Gilly
Cobbler and her friends live in the village of Enchantasia. The
village sounds like such a charming place to live.
Fairy
Tale Reform School is where the “bad” children are sent when they
need a little “tough love” to improve their bad, disrespectful
behavior.
After
Gilly completes her time at FTRS, she is bored attending Jack of All
Trade School. She misses FTRS and all the friends she made there.
Word is spreading that Rumplestiltskin has taken over FTRS as
Headmaster and things are changing – dramatically.
Gilly's
little sister, Anna, is hanging around with Hansel and Gretel who are
really, really bad children, stealing candy, robbing candy carts.
When
Rumplestiltskin takes over FTRS, all attempts at “reform” seem to
be abandoned.
Gilly's
little sister, Anna, gets sentenced to FTRS and it's up to Gilly and
her friends to get themselves sent back to FTRS to out-trick the
master trickster. They face the biggest challenge and adventure of
their lives.
I
enjoyed the book very much. It is family oriented and delivers a
message of the value of friendship, unity and trust. It also
delivers a message of self-worth and self-discovery.
This
is an excellent book for Middle School age children (9-13).
Thanks
to Netgally and Sourcebooks Jabberwocky for allowing
me to read and review this ARC.
