America A Cultural
Enigma *****
By:
Donald L. Gilleland
I
found this to be a very interesting book, although very statistical
and analytical. The author does an excellent job of outlining his
topics and provides detailed facts to back up his observations. He
offers an opinion based on history, life experiences, and a lot of
knowledge about the culture of America. Who we WERE, the beliefs and
values that this Nation was founded on.
This
book details the many things that have changed and shaped Americans
into who we now are.
Unfortunately,
a large number of these changes have NOT made America better, but
have instead eroded our once great moral character as the people of
this Nation.
For
all the accomplishments, technology, knowledge, skills – we, as a
people, have lost our “innocence”. To a great extent, we have
lost our ability to trust our fellow citizens. Too much greed and
jealousy – a corruption that has lead to more anger and hate. Less
compassion, less empathy, less respect. [ because these emotions are
no longer earned by our fellow citizens]. I must agree that we have
become a Nation very much divided. And the future looks bleak. If
this Nation doesn't stop, look at the damage being done, and reverse
coarse . . we are doomed to destroy this Nation.
America
– the great melting pot. . . that only worked centuries ago at the
birth of this great Nation. When immigrants came here LEGALLY and
assimilated into this Nations beliefs, values, and moral convictions.
When all immigrants worked and contributed to society financially,
physically, emotionally and intellectually – for the BENEFIT of
this Nation. That has NOT been the case for many decades.
Certain
political parties have allowed (and encouraged) our country to become
overwhelmed and over run with illegal immigrants, dangerous
criminals, terrorist, and those who have NO intention or desire to do
anything other than live on our welfare system. A huge burden on the
taxpayers.
If
you enjoy History, statistics, and facts that tell the truth of the
situation... this book is for you. If you don't enjoy history
perhaps you should go find yourself a fairy tale. ;-)
I
enjoyed reading the book and thank the author for allowing me to read
the ARC in exchange for my honest review. I recommend this book for
all who seek the truth.
