Wild Irish Heart : a
mystic cove novel (Book 1) *****
By:
Tricia O'Malley
Can I
just jump into this story and be Keelin!? To live in this enchanted,
mystical, magical life set in a wondrous, beautiful cove in Ireland.
Surrounded in centuries of folklore and whispers of the descendants
of Grace O'Malley perhaps touched and each gifted with some form of
perhaps, could it be magic. . . . ?
I am
of Irish descent so this book makes me want to visit and explore
Ireland and my heritage. I also come from a long line of Nurses and
medical professionals ;-) IE: healers. There are whispers of psychic
“gifts” in my maternal family. This story beats in my heart and
soul.
Keelin
has never “fit in” in Boston, although she doesn't know (or want
to believe) why. And for months she has been having such vivid
dreams – more like visions. Bright, intense blue eyes both haunt
and seduce her in these visions. Keelin receives an ancient book,
with a simple note “It is time”. When Keelin touches objects (or
people), she has visions and can “see” the history surrounding
the object or person. This book belongs to her grandmother. It is
time for Keelin to go to Ireland and learn of her heritage.
I
loved how Keelin explored and gained knowledge of her powers as a
Celtic healer. Sometimes you have to accept who and what you are,
even if it scares other people. Some believe it's witchcraft, others
call it magic... and yet others believe it is a psychic ability (one
of many different forms of abilities) that only a few are gifted
with.
Favorite
quote from book:
“When
a soul meets its own truth for the first time there are no walls that
can be put up. No shields.”
This
is the first book I've read by Tricia O'Malley and I look forward to
reading all of the other books in this series. Thank you for
allowing me to read the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
