Reality Bites: Tales of a Half-Vampire by Shaunda Kennedy Wenger

This book was so funny & most teen girls feel like a freak at one time or another so it is totally believable with a fin twist. This young adult book from 12 year old Mackenzie's point of view is smash up crazy with vampires, witches, skeletal relatives hanging around plus the horrors of puberty lingering. Mackenzie is half vampire/ half human & her vamp mother won't allow her to dress in a beautiful "girlie" costume for an upcoming Halloween party, but requires her to dress gross & gory. Lots of laughs & frustration from a headstrong preteen just trying to fit in despite her monster family.
Wenger has taken an the oddest of circumstances & made them a reality of laughs.
